Hi, I’m Sivan Goldhirsh…Welcome!

I’m so happy you made it to my website. Home is where the heart is, and I’ve always found my home to be a place of comfort, grounding and inspiration. This is the experience that I work to cultivate in my body, my living quarters, and hopefully, also this site.
I know how overwhelming the virtual world can be; we are so lucky to have such a wealth of information at our fingertips, yet figuring out what to do with all of it can be confusing and discouraging! I hope to offer some new and useful perspectives to you in your unique journey. To bring some strength and inspiration as you live your best life.
Women go through so many transitions in their lives…from my experience, when I’ve been at home in myself, these transitions have been times of growth. I believe that we are all capable of finding meaning, growth and positivity in our transitions, even if they challenge us. Perhaps, because they challenge us.
Some pivotal transitions in my life include retiring from dancing, becoming a mother, and navigating perimenopause. The practice of yoga has guided and sustained me. Connecting to my body and myself in this practice has been in turns soothing, inspiring, grounding, and challenging. It has been a tool to find grace on the path of life.
My Path To Yoga
My early years as a dancer instilled within me a deep understanding of my body and movement. While able to develop significant skill in coordination and technical ability, the outward directed focus of a dancer can sever an important connection with one’s body. An important ability to listen and to respect one’s body.
Yoga practice developed the ability to navigate my inner space, to observe and relate to my body in a mindful way. I learned about the MindBody connection and began to understand the physical ailments and injuries I experienced through a more reflective process.
During my teacher training and in the decade of teaching yoga since then, I’ve learned that the articulation of my own experiences of “being in my body” were relatable and useful to others. Teaching yoga is a process of refining and maturation – of going from the individual to the universal. The connection with my students and their journeys has further deepened my appreciation for the wisdom of the body and the trust we can build in ourselves through the magnificent tool of yoga.
Iyengar Yoga
I am a certified Level Two Iyengar Yoga Instructor. I have practiced many styles of yoga, and while every style has it benefits and advantages, I find the Iyengar Yoga methodology to be safe, structured, and endlessly inspiring. The focus on alignment and timing, the use of props and variations of asanas, and the wise sequencing that is characteristic of this style of yoga offer students yogic tools for life. It is detail oriented, mentally and physically stimulating while soothing the nervous system, and considerate of the individual’s strengths and weaknesses. Every class/sequence takes into account the physical and mental journey and leaves room for the student to delve into all layers of self.

Women’s Nurture
I began the first Women’s Nurture group in my home in 2018. Yoga, conversation and light refreshments were a way to nurture my friends and expose them to the healing and transformative gifts of yoga. While I now have my own studio and am more formalized in multiple group and private lessons per week, the essence of those early groups still informs how I teach, and the value I place in personal connection.
Yoga is a tool for nurturing my students, and they apply what they learn to themselves in the practice. The threads of connection, with me, with each other and with themselves, weaves a beautiful tapestry of self-care, group support and caring guidance that is a signature of Women’s Nurture.
I hope that every woman who enters my studio feels embraced and at home. That it is a safe space to be exactly who she is, while investing in her development and growth. It is where my heart is, and I welcome you with love.
